n. Slang

  1. An insignificant but arrogant and obnoxious young person.
  2. A silly, insignificant, or contemptible person.
  3. The hair style owned by characters such as Dennis the Menace, the Family Circus kid and Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Specifically that little bit of hair coming off the top.

I was just thinking about it recently. Every person who has ever been called a twerp has one of those. Just thought it was interesting.
